In the culmination of the ongoing 8-years-long war between Russia and Ukraine, Russia has declared that it recognizes the "people's republics" in Donbas as "independent". This move is meant as the setup to jeopardize years of diplomatic negotiations around the conflict and disrupt peace in the region.
Prior to the recognition, pro-Kremlin channels have spread false justifications for the ongoing war. In a speech announcing the recognition, Putin blamed Ukrainians themselves for the escalation, calling it “a colony with puppets at its helm.”
Russia has declared a full-scale invasion early in the morning of February 24th.
Emergency Response Donation
The current emergency response is focused on purchasing medical supplies for critical situations like blood loss and other tactical medicine items. We have a large procurement team of volunteers that tracks down and purchases supplies and a logistics team that then gets them to Ukraine. Through multiple meetings a day, we are coordinating with several partner organizations worldwide, including Nova Ukraine, United Help Ukraine, Revived Soldiers Ukraine, Sunflower for Peace, and Euromaidan-Warszava. We are also working with governments and embassies on humanitarian corridors.
The funds will be used to purchase the supplies such as tourniquets bandages, combat gauzes, sterile pads, and satellite phones. We are working to collaborate with large US nonprofits that provide medical supplies to countries in crisis. On the logistics side, we are arranging for warehouses and points of delivery in Poland and Lviv. The Meest company has provided generous support by preparing airplanes for the fastest delivery.
